Jacket and Neck Cozy, December 2001
Pattern: Elizabeth Lee Designs #206
Fabric: Malden Mills novelty fleece with pile (more like fur) from Phoenix Textiles

Same jacket as at left with baby panel zipped in--and holding my baby! I also made the baby hat for her but my mother-in-law took it to embroider on and I haven't gotten it back yet.

Cardigan, September 2001
Pattern: Stretch & Sew 150 "The Super Set"
Fabric: Sort of a cross between bouclé and a sweater knit? Not sure (from Hartsdale Fabrics)
Yes, this is very old, but I decided for completeness' sake I wanted to include some things I made last year in sewing class. I guess when I originally made this page I was only posting photos of nursing clothing. Anyway, I made this cardigan and a pair of knit pants (photo to come) in my second sewing class last summer.

Shirt, August 2001
Pattern: Stretch & Sew 150 "The Super Set"
Fabric: Autumn-y floral knit print (from Hartsdale Fabrics)
The second thing I sewed after the yellow dress at the very bottom of this page. I made it in my first sewing class last summer, along with a brown velour straight skirt that for some reason I forgot to photograph today. I was (and still am) very proud of it, but it doesn't fit very well, and it's not nursing, and it's become kind of redundant since I made the dress with the same fabric for the top, soooo... I think I am going to sacrifice it to make a romper or something for the new baby to have a matching outfit to mine and Melanie's pictured below.

Top and Skirt, September 2001
Top Pattern: Elizabeth Lee Designs #205 (view 2 shell with view 3 neckline)
Skirt Pattern: Stretch & Sew #441 - The Urban Skirt
Fabric: Silky 100% poly from G Street Fabrics, Washington, DC
I sewed the overlay on the inside and love how that turned out. I wish I had made the skirt longer--it's a bit revealing when I sit down, if you know what I mean. Bad haircut and the photo makes me look very short and squat. I am short, but not that squat! The outfit is much better in real life. I'll have to have DH take a new picture.
March 2003 note: I gave this to the Goodwillit just does not fit right and wasn't flattering. I'm leaving this pic up to have a record of what I made.

Dress, July 2001
Pattern: Elizabeth Lee Designs #204
Fabric: Rayon/poly blend from Hartsdale Fabrics, New York
This has been hemmed since I took the photo. It came out pretty well for my first sewing project ever (well, in 15 years!). However, the nursing opening is very tight so I don't wear it too often.
